Maccas FAIL + Sushi FTW

I decided I’d get a filet-o-fish meal from maccas while I was working at the city on Sunday.  Since the Myer centre entrance is closer I usually go there and don’t have any problems  but that day was just… I can’t put it any other way but… EPIC FAIL!

I think the manager was working that day.. not too sure.  So why was it so fail? Here’s why:

1. He repeated in a very monotonous voice… 3 times to me the cost of the meal – $6.25 (It was still $5 sth 2 weeks ago, but I let that go since I wasn’t sure if they recently raised their prices).  But seriously, he had no intention of collecting my money at the time, the amount was displayed on the screen, so why does he need to repeat it 3 times when he was busy anyway? Beats me. Do I really look like a retard who can’t read or understand numbers?
2. Again.. not sure if he ripped me off.. but not tooooo worried about that..
3. He did not fill up my drink properly.   There was at least 1cm gap from the top.
4. Not his fault but.. the chips were overcooked!! On the verge of being burnt!! They were dark brown! All of them!

So there was my little rant.  Wasn’t too happy after that since lunch is the only thing I look forward too during work.

On another note.. I went to Garden City with my friend Celeste and had Sushi Sushi today!!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the salmon and scallop.  Their uni nigiri was as expected… not very fresh.. but their salmon sashimi looks so good!  They also had a shelf of sashimi and boxes of assorted nigiri for around $8-9!! Enjoyed it alot and would definitely go back

I have had a craving for crab since 2 weeks ago, so mum bought some spanner crabs! Not nearly as good as mud crabs but I think it shall suffice for now

On another note, got home yesterday and felt like playing with my hair, quick go with the curler and the result… tada!  I only volumed up the top and gave a few little waves on the bottom.  Nothing spectacular but it seemed to make the style last longer.. hmm..

The Melbourne Cup

I never usually bother to celebrate this day, but just because everyone at Prince Charles was having so much fun making their hats I thought I would join in the fun!

And now it’s approaching my final days before the end of my last placement!! So excited!!! PARTY HARD TIME!! WAHAHAHAHA

 

Korean Dramas, Chinese Music.

This Series has a few names such as “Take Care of the Young Lady” and “My Fair Lady”.  Been really into this Korean series and it just finished airing recently in Korea.  The one thing that attracted me to this drama was the fact that it had Yoon Eun Hye!! I love her!!  Her character is a very spoilt rich brat, who has a few bad run ins with a man that is up to his shoulders with debts, who soon becomes her butler.  The story is basically a love triangle between her, the butler and another well-off man.  Storyline doesn’t sound too impressive but it’s hilarious, at times serious, full of romance and it keeps you always wanting to watch more!!

G.E.M Tang released her new album “18…”

It contains a few cantonese and mandarin songs, and it’s sort of jazzy pop style.  Must admit it’s not as good/impressive as her first mini album but not bad to listen to.  I think I love “Mascara” and “Seine River” the best.  I love that she can actually sing, unlike quite a majority of the Hong Kong singers out there these days.

On another note, WOOHOO!! Only one more week of placements left and it’s nearly the end of the year, and the end of my Physiotherapy program!! OMG it’s so surreal! Bit scared of my future actually, but I guess I’ll just take it as it comes.

 

Lappy stand!!!

Since my desktop died a couple of months ago, my laptop has been my only source of technology, so I thought that getting a laptop stand would be a smart thing to do to avoid that dying too fast as well :S

So welcome… my new Griffin laptop stand (bad pic)!! I love it!! It gives my lappy so much room to breathe and the solid aluminium makes it so sturdy!!!!  I have to thank Ricky for buying this for me, he always knows what I need most ehehe..

Now to re-arrange my table, try to fix up the wiring and move the printer…

Speaking of technology I thought I would like to share a cleaning technique I’ve been using since a while ago.  Since I have the Apple keyboard and it’s so white, dirt can show pretty fast and easily.  The solution is… Nail polish remover!!  Wouldn’t think of it hey, but it’s a pretty good cleaner and it cleans really really well.  I was scared that it would shed off the letters of the keyboard but it doesn’t do anything of the sort.  Great discovery, although the acetone can be overpowering.

I was having some afternoon tea today and I discovered the new best combination!!! Creamy cup of soup (I used Country cup Butternut pumpkin with croutons) + RICE CRACKERS!!! OMFG it is GOOD!!! The result is like croutons that don’t get soggy!  I was in heaven haha

 

A touch of colour

Rainbow behind my house after a storm.  It was so big I couldn’t fit the whole thing into the picture!  Reminds me that, at times of darkness and misery, something good will always come out at the end.  You just have to wait and be patient to be able to appreciate it.

It’s funny how a placement at Chermside can be harder to get to than Caboolture, but I have found a way around it!  I can leave the house a bit later in the morning and I’m allowed to be a little late to hospital too!!  The end is coming near, only just over 3 more weeks to go and I’ll be finishing up… the final year of my degree!!  Now to find a job… shit…

Quick update

Just like to tell you all, this… is GOOOOOOOOD.  My hair has stopped going all over the place with crazy frizzy fly aways, and it really helps to protect when blowdrying.  Love this thing.

I’ve been using my new little friend Sguard rock-one mascara and I think I’ve changed my view on it just slightly.  After using Kiss Me Heroine Make mascara, I was able to get even more volume and length by coating EVER SO CAREFULLY (like spending 15 minutes on it rather than the usual 5-10) with Sguard.

Again, fibres get pretty messy and you have to be really careful not to make one wrong move or else its pretty have to save your lashes after it screws up (so yeah, this mascara has the ability to both separate extremely well, but also has a greater ability to make your eyelashes clump like there’s no tomorrow).

Leave you with a singer  I recently fell in love with although she’s been quite popular since earlier on in the year.

Also a really catchy korean song. First 2 girls that sing look pretty bad… >< but catchy XD

Okay… so I said that I wouldn’t buy anymore make-up.. but that didn’t really work.. and I lost my motivation to save up for the end of the year.. so I blew it… just a bit… hehehe… ^^” Had a mini E-bay haul as well… (BECKIE!!!! And thanks to cel for helping me ^.^)

I love this eye shadow.. I’m actually so surprised.. It’s super shimmery and the colours all show up really well and makes for a good daytime eyeshadow.  You can make more dramatic looks with this as well.  Very smooth too and easy to apply

Not many cons I can think about this except for the fact that it would be better if they made the bottom two compartments the same size as the two above!!

Koji Eyelash curler in 22R

Small pic XD nothing fascinating… The size 22R is the one that is less curved which is good because my old one kept nipping my eyelids and it bloody hurt!! This eyelash curler has a spring on the hinge so it  saves you some squeezing effort (well it claims to) but.. let’s see how long the spring lasts.

Sguard Rock-On mascara

Bit hard to get a good picture of the brush.  But not QUITE what I pictured it to be.

• Mascara is waterproof, claims to lengthen, volume and curl in one.
• Brush- As seen on the packet, the brush has one side that is longer and the other side that is shorter.  Looks a bit like a round head with spikey hair on top XD (tried to capture it in second pic but failed miserably =.=)
  - Longer side for the tips of the upper lashes for lengthening
  - Shorter side for the roots of the upper and bottom lashes to space them out and get volume
  - It does spread out the lashes nice and evenly, better than any other mascara brush I’ve used.  that short brush for roots thing really does work and helps to prevent clumping.
• I saw heaps… and I mean.. HEAPS of fibres on the brush.  Frankly I think that the container is abit too narrow for the brush, and things can get quite messy because of that.
• Formula… good concept.. doesn’t really work.  Layered it on around 3 layers before I got minimal volume, but got more length and great separation.
  - Formula is really light and doesn’t weigh down the lashes, but this could also be why it takes 3 layers for it to show up.
  - I think this mascara is for lengthening more so than volume.
  - Fibres might be a tad too long and too much… I think it may have started to irritate my eyes.
• Overall, I don’t think I’ll be getting this again… stick to Kiss Me Heroine Make volume and curl mascara instead….

This Japanese cherry blossom face mask came free with my ebay package ^^ probably won’t be using it anytime soon though I should.

 

Creamy Puffs!!!!!

Catching the train everyday can have its advantages.  One is that I can pass by Beard Papa everyday!!!! Although it can be evil and drain my wallet, nothing compares to central station Beard Papa!!  Beard Papa creamy puffs originated in Osaka, Japan in 1999, and has been expanding all over the world ever since!!  The first Beard Papa in Australia opened in Brisbane central station! No wonder they are so good!

The one that opened in Garden City is just not the same.  Depending on the person that serves you, they don’t fill the creamy puff completely, they mix up your orders, their vanilla custard isn’t even as nice!!! One other thing is that they don’t line the box with paper, and they don’t wrap the creamy puffs individually in paper!!  Talk about dodgey.  Anyway, that’s enough of my little rant.

This is a quality creamy puff, filled with quality vanilla bean custard and lightly sprinkled over with icing sugar:

wrapped in good quality tissue paper, it holds the creamy puff well, and after you finish stuffing your face you can wipe it clean^^v
