Shopaholic much? (picture heavy)

June 27, 2010 Leave a comment

Just received my parcel from facial-shop the other day!  So exciting :D Delivery was very prompt, and the owner (?) Vivian was very nice and helpful when answering my questions.  Only thing is it is not the cheapest but you don’t have to pay shipping fee :)

I got free Orbis E/S samples and an extra Aube blush for $6USD

Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Colour in 10 Vintage Decor

It’s sooooo shimmery and bling I love it so much!! Consistency is literally like jelly and has the typical Jill Stuart floral smell.  I think I have grown accustomed to it hehe

Colour away from the light reflection.  It’s more of a taupey brown on the eyes.  Lasts a whole day! love love love!! Going to get some other colours later ^^

Visee Blackish Forming Eyes B2

Was choosing between Brilliance Forming in A3 and this, but got swayed by my sis to get this instead XD Ended up getting one each

A nice orangey brown palette.  I was worried the highlighter shade would turn out too silver but it’s great.  The palette overall is more shimmery than B1 too ^^

Comparison

Thought I would do a quick colour comparison between B1 and B2.
All the colours have a  pretty obvious difference apart from the darker shades (bottom right in each palette).
B2 is slightly lighter and is a more obvious brown as opposed B1 which is more blackish brown with shimmers.
Both give a very different look, so I’m happy to have both ^^
What I LOVE about Visee palettes is that they co-ordinate the shimmers perfectly with the colour.  It’s so elegant and wearable hehehe then again most jap brands do that anyway

Esprique Precious Dress On Shiny Eyes C2

I really wanted a pinky red palette as this is what I have least of, and really liked the look fuzkittie made on her blog ^^

Nice pigmentation and exactly what I wanted ^^  The cream colour is very greasy with fine shimmer but I would be very reluctant to use it anywhere apart from the brow bone.

Kate Gel Liner BR-1

Was a bit disappointed when I got this because it looked like customs opened it, and may not have closed to lid straight away so it felt a bit dry.  However, after I got rid of the top layer it was nice and soft ^^

Shimmery brown, lasts the whole day, good for day time when you don’t want to have too harsh a dark line, but still want good definition :)

“Gift” for extra $6USD for purchase over $100USD:  Aube Chiffon Touch Cheek in RS803

Looks dark, but it actually shows up light and gives the cheek a nice little tint.  Exactly what I wanted!

Bit hard to see but you can’t see a little bit of the pinky tint on the left side of my hand as opposed to the right.  Highlighter is in the middle

Comes with some instructions completely in Japanese so can’t really understand it lol Luckily it’s got pictures ahaha

Orbis E/S samples

Vivian was very nice to add this in as well as I wanted to see whether these were any good.  Loose eyeshadow- 3 colour gradation vertically: blue, green, purple, pink and brown

Decided to press the eyeshadow because it would last longer and more convenient to use
Pressed it with Isocol, and the pigments where not compromised, although pressing with Isocol does not work with all types of loose E/S on the market

Swatches are pretty random.  First darkest colour is not from the sample.  I think the top colours are from the bottom row.  Nevertheless, the shadows are not very pigmented and slightly shimmery.

Happy ^^

“Shuck em’ to me baby!”

June 19, 2010 2 comments

We bought some unshucked Tasmanian oysters for $10/doz today!  I always loved Tasmanian oysters because they are fat, sweet and also “crunchy”!  My least favourite of them all is the Sydney Rock.. small puny little things and not much taste.  I recently discovered Coffin bay ones as well which aren’t too bad either :D

So I learnt how to shuck oysters tonight!  It totally reminded me of Masterchef ahahaha (hence the post title).  I’ve been a religious follower of the show for some reason.  I say Ricky is the one that got me into it although he hasn’t been watching this year’s one.  Surprisingly it wasn’t TOOO hard.  Just requires a bit of elbow grease and you have to figure out where the mouth is- usually on the middle right of the rippled side ^^

Look at those fat fat oysters… mmmmmm

After battling with the lids.  Finally done!  There were two that were just impossible… nothing a little bit of banging on the kitchen sink won’t fix :D

And of course there has to be a little battle scar :P  Looks more like a small paper cut.  It hurt when the knife popped out of the oyster and into my hand though…

YUM YUM!!

Bobbi Brown gel liner

June 15, 2010 3 comments

Thought I would give a quick update on my newest addition to my gel liners.  I was looking for a less intense liner, with a bit of shimmer, and because Bobbi Brown has been the hype for gel liners since ages ago, I thought I would give it a try.

So here is my less intense with a bit of shimmer liner.  The colour is true to its name.  Graphite shimmer ink.  What better name for the colour ahaha

May I mention… OUCH my wallet? $45 AUD is pretty expensive for a gel liner I must say.

The consistency is soooo creamy and soft that it is hard to make a dense line in a quick swatch.  Am I just being difficult or what? LOL  Well it does show up better on the eyes.
I’m happy I got this colour, but it could also be the reason why I’m not that excited about it.  Can’t really expect anything more as it delivers everything I was looking for – less intense, shimmery but not OTT, long lasting.

I’m just still very uncertain.  I would still buy Kate or try Esprique Precious over this next time.  (Which reminds me I ordered a Kate gel liner in brown BUAHAHAHA).  Speaking of which, I’m so unhappy that my Kate liner dried up because I forgot to close the lid properly 2 times…

Well I’m happy to say that I tried it, and although I am not disgusted by it, I am also not crazy in love with it.  In saying that, I think it is better than MAC.  MAC definitely smudges.

On another note, an old picture taken in Sydney by Ricky’s friend. LOL!

My favourite guy came back from Sydney for the weekend for a late birthday visit ^^ It was an awesome weekend, just wish he could stay a little longer.. but it’s alright!!  He shall be home in the next few weeks for good!!!

With love from Ricky.  Plain and simple wallet, but bling inside buahaha.. me loves purples and pockets.. no monograms here.

My stuffed toy collection is slowly taking over my bed.  Well the more the merrier :) Welcome my newest additions!!! Mr. Cat and The DOG! adorably big heads ehehehehe
Just in case you were thinking that big black thing is a pig.. it’s not! It’s an octopus!! It’s got little tentacle flaps with pig poka dots on the bottom LOL

Sigh I need to bring my camera out more often so I can have some more photos with Ricky, can’t seem to find any recent photos.  I shall be sitting here twiddling my thumbs for now…missing his company already :(

On the upside, long weekend!!!  3 day week next week!!! yes!!!! I love short work weeks!! Good luck for all who still have exams!
